א  וּמֹשֶׁה, הָיָה רֹעֶה אֶת-צֹאן יִתְרוֹ חֹתְנוֹ--כֹּהֵן מִדְיָן; וַיִּנְהַג אֶת-הַצֹּאן אַחַר הַמִּדְבָּר, וַיָּבֹא אֶל-הַר הָאֱלֹהִים חֹרֵבָה.

1 ΚΑΙ Μωυσής ην ποιμαίνων τα πρόβατα Ιοθόρ του γαμβρού αυτού του ιερέως Μαδιάμ και ήγαγε τα πρόβατα υπό την έρημον και ήλθεν εις το όρος Χωρήβ.

1 Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the farthest end of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb.

ב  וַיֵּרָא מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה אֵלָיו, בְּלַבַּת-אֵשׁ--מִתּוֹךְ הַסְּנֶה; וַיַּרְא, וְהִנֵּה הַסְּנֶה בֹּעֵר בָּאֵשׁ, וְהַסְּנֶה, אֵינֶנּוּ אֻכָּל.

2 ώφθη δε αυτω άγγελος Κυρίου εν πυρί φλογός εκ του βάτου, και ορά ότι ο βάτος καίεται πυρί, ο δε βάτος ου κατεκαίετο.

2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush; and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

ג  וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה--אָסֻרָה-נָּא וְאֶרְאֶה, אֶת-הַמַּרְאֶה הַגָּדֹל הַזֶּה:  מַדּוּעַ, לֹא-יִבְעַר הַסְּנֶה.

3 είπε δε Μωυσής· παρελθών όψομαι το όραμα το μέγα τούτο, ότι ου κατακαίεται ο βάτος.

3 And Moses said: 'I will turn aside now, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.'

ד  וַיַּרְא יְהוָה, כִּי סָר לִרְאוֹת; וַיִּקְרָא אֵלָיו אֱלֹהִים מִתּוֹךְ הַסְּנֶה, וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה מֹשֶׁה--וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּנִי.

4 ως δε είδε Κύριος ότι προσάγει ιδείν, εκάλεσεν αυτόν ο Κύριος εκ του βάτου λέγων· Μωυσή, Μωυσή. ο δε είπε· τι εστι;

4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said: 'Moses, Moses.' And he said: 'Here am I.'

ה  וַיֹּאמֶר, אַל-תִּקְרַב הֲלֹם; שַׁל-נְעָלֶיךָ, מֵעַל רַגְלֶיךָ--כִּי הַמָּקוֹם אֲשֶׁר אַתָּה עוֹמֵד עָלָיו, אַדְמַת-קֹדֶשׁ הוּא.

5 ο δε είπε· μη εγγίσης ώδε. λύσαι το υπόδημα εκ των ποδών σου· ο γαρ τόπος, εν ω συ έστηκας, γη αγία εστί.

5 And He said: 'Draw not nigh hither; put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.'

ו  וַיֹּאמֶר, אָנֹכִי אֱלֹהֵי אָבִיךָ, אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם אֱלֹהֵי יִצְחָק, וֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב; וַיַּסְתֵּר מֹשֶׁה, פָּנָיו, כִּי יָרֵא, מֵהַבִּיט אֶל-הָאֱלֹהִים.

6 και είπεν· εγώ ειμι ο Θεός του πατρός σου, Θεός Αβραάμ και Θεός Ισαάκ και Θεός Ιακώβ. απέστρεψε δε Μωυσής το πρόσωπον αυτού· ευλαβείτο γαρ κατεμβλέψαι ενώπιον του Θεού.

6 Moreover He said: 'I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.' And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

ז  וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה, רָאֹה רָאִיתִי אֶת-עֳנִי עַמִּי אֲשֶׁר בְּמִצְרָיִם; וְאֶת-צַעֲקָתָם שָׁמַעְתִּי מִפְּנֵי נֹגְשָׂיו, כִּי יָדַעְתִּי אֶת-מַכְאֹבָיו.

7 είπε δε Κύριος προς Μωυσήν· ιδών είδον την κάκωσιν του λαού μου του εν Αιγύπτω και της κραυγής αυτών ακήκοα από των εργοδιωκτών· οίδα γαρ την οδύνην αυτών,

7 And the LORD said: 'I have surely seen the affliction of My people that are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their pains;

ח  וָאֵרֵד לְהַצִּילוֹ מִיַּד מִצְרַיִם, וּלְהַעֲלֹתוֹ מִן-הָאָרֶץ הַהִוא, אֶל-אֶרֶץ טוֹבָה וּרְחָבָה, אֶל-אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ--אֶל-מְקוֹם הַכְּנַעֲנִי, וְהַחִתִּי, וְהָאֱמֹרִי וְהַפְּרִזִּי, וְהַחִוִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי.

8 και κατέβην εξελέσθαι αυτούς εκ χειρός των Αιγυπτίων και εξαγαγείν αυτούς εκ της γης εκείνης και εισαγαγείν αυτούς εις γην αγαθήν και πολλήν, εις γην ρέουσαν γάλα και μέλι, εις τον τόπον των Χαναναίων και Χετταίων και Αμορραίων και Φερεζαίων και Γεργεσαίων και Ευαίων και Ιεβουσαίων

8 and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

ט  וְעַתָּה, הִנֵּה צַעֲקַת בְּנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּאָה אֵלָי; וְגַם-רָאִיתִי, אֶת-הַלַּחַץ, אֲשֶׁר מִצְרַיִם, לֹחֲצִים אֹתָם.

9 και νυν ιδού κραυγή των υιών Ισραήλ ήκει προς με, καγώ εώρακα τον θλιμμόν, ον οι Αιγύπτιοι θλίβουσιν αυτούς.

9 And now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto Me; moreover I have seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.

י  וְעַתָּה לְכָה, וְאֶשְׁלָחֲךָ אֶל-פַּרְעֹה; וְהוֹצֵא אֶת-עַמִּי בְנֵי-יִשְׂרָאֵל, מִמִּצְרָיִם.

10 και νυν δεύρο αποστείλω σε προς Φαραώ βασιλέα Αιγύπτου, και εξάξεις τον λαόν μου τους υιούς Ισρήλ εκ γης Αιγύπτου.

10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth My people the children of Israel out of Egypt.'

יא  וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה, אֶל-הָאֱלֹהִים, מִי אָנֹכִי, כִּי אֵלֵךְ אֶל-פַּרְעֹה; וְכִי אוֹצִיא אֶת-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, מִמִּצְרָיִם.

11 και είπε Μωυσής προς τον Θεόν· τις ειμι εγώ, ότι πορεύσομαι προς Φαραώ βασιλέα Αιγύπτου, και ότι εξάξω τους υιούς Ισραήλ εκ γης Αιγύπτου;

11 And Moses said unto God: 'Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?'

יב  וַיֹּאמֶר, כִּי-אֶהְיֶה עִמָּךְ, וְזֶה-לְּךָ הָאוֹת, כִּי אָנֹכִי שְׁלַחְתִּיךָ:  בְּהוֹצִיאֲךָ אֶת-הָעָם, מִמִּצְרַיִם, תַּעַבְדוּן אֶת-הָאֱלֹהִים, עַל הָהָר הַזֶּה.

12 είπε δε ο Θεός Μωυσή λέγων· ότι έσομαι μετά σου, και τούτό σοι το σημείον, ότι εγώ σε εξαποστέλλω εν τω εξαγαγείν σε τον λαόν μου εξ Αιγύπτου και λατρεύσετε τω Θεω εν τω όρει τούτω.

12 And He said: 'Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be the token unto thee, that I have sent thee: when thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.'

יג  וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל-הָאֱלֹהִים, הִנֵּה אָנֹכִי בָא אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאָמַרְתִּי לָהֶם, אֱלֹהֵי אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם שְׁלָחַנִי אֲלֵיכֶם; וְאָמְרוּ-לִי מַה-שְּׁמוֹ, מָה אֹמַר אֲלֵהֶם.

13 και είπε Μωυσής προς τον Θεόν· ιδού εγώ εξελεύσομαι προς τους υιούς Ισραήλ, και ερώ προς αυτούς· ο Θεός των πατέρων ημών απέσταλκέ με προς υμάς. ερωτήσουσί με· τι όνομα αυτω; τι ερώ προς αυτούς;

13 And Moses said unto God: 'Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them: The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me: What is His name? what shall I say unto them?'

יד  וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים אֶל-מֹשֶׁה, אֶהְיֶה אֲשֶׁר אֶהְיֶה; וַיֹּאמֶר, כֹּה תֹאמַר לִבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, אֶהְיֶה, שְׁלָחַנִי אֲלֵיכֶם.

14 και είπεν ο Θεός προς Μωυσήν λέγων· εγώ ειμι ο ων. και είπεν· ούτως ερείς τοις υιοίς Ισραήλ· ο ων απέσταλκέ με προς υμάς.

14 And God said unto Moses: 'I AM THAT I AM'; and He said: 'Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: I AM hath sent me unto you.'

טו  וַיֹּאמֶר עוֹד אֱלֹהִים אֶל-מֹשֶׁה, כֹּה-תֹאמַר אֶל-בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹתֵיכֶם אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם אֱלֹהֵי יִצְחָק וֵאלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב, שְׁלָחַנִי אֲלֵיכֶם; זֶה-שְּׁמִי לְעֹלָם, וְזֶה זִכְרִי לְדֹר דֹּר.

15 και είπεν ο Θεός πάλιν προς Μωυσήν· ούτως ερείς τοις υιοίς Ισραήλ· Κύριος ο Θεός των πατέρων ημών, Θεός Αβραάμ και Θεός Ισαάκ και Θεός Ιακώβ απέσταλκέ με προς υμάς· τούτό μου εστιν όνομα αιώνιον και μνημόσυνον γενεών γενεαίς.

15 And God said moreover unto Moses: 'Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel: The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you; this is My name for ever, and this is My memorial unto all generations.

טז  לֵךְ וְאָסַפְתָּ אֶת-זִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹתֵיכֶם נִרְאָה אֵלַי, אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם יִצְחָק וְיַעֲקֹב, לֵאמֹר:  פָּקֹד פָּקַדְתִּי אֶתְכֶם, וְאֶת-הֶעָשׂוּי לָכֶם בְּמִצְרָיִם.

16 ελθών ουν συνάγαγε την γερουσίαν των υιών Ισραήλ και ερείς προς αυτούς· Κύριος ο Θεός των πατέρων ημών ώπταί μοι, Θεός Αβραάμ και Θεός Ισαάκ και Θεός Ιακώβ, λέγων· επισκοπή επέσκεμμαι υμάς και όσα συμβέβηκεν υμίν εν Αιγύπτω.

16 Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them: The LORD, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, hath appeared unto me, saying: I have surely remembered you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt.

יז  וָאֹמַר, אַעֲלֶה אֶתְכֶם מֵעֳנִי מִצְרַיִם, אֶל-אֶרֶץ הַכְּנַעֲנִי וְהַחִתִּי, וְהָאֱמֹרִי וְהַפְּרִזִּי וְהַחִוִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי--אֶל-אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב, וּדְבָשׁ.

17 και είπεν· αναβιβάσω υμάς εκ της κακώσεως των Αιγυπτίων εις την γην των Χαναναίων και Χετταίων και Αμορραίων και Φερεζαίων και Γεργεσαίων και Ευαίων και Ιεβουσαίων, εις γην ρέουσαν γάλα και μέλι.

17 And I have said: I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

יח  וְשָׁמְעוּ, לְקֹלֶךָ; וּבָאתָ אַתָּה וְזִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל-מֶלֶךְ מִצְרַיִם, וַאֲמַרְתֶּם אֵלָיו יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי הָעִבְרִיִּים נִקְרָה עָלֵינוּ, וְעַתָּה נֵלְכָה-נָּא דֶּרֶךְ שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים בַּמִּדְבָּר, וְנִזְבְּחָה לַיהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ.

18 και εισακούσονταί σου της φωνής· και εισελεύση συ και η γερουσία Ισραήλ προς Φαραώ βασιλέα Αιγύπτου και ερείς προς αυτόν· ο Θεός των Εβραίων προσκέκληται ημάς· πορευσόμεθα ουν οδόν τριών ημερών εις την έρημον, ίνα θύσωμεν τω Θεω ημών.

18 And they shall hearken to thy voice. And thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him: The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, hath met with us. And now let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

יט  וַאֲנִי יָדַעְתִּי--כִּי לֹא-יִתֵּן אֶתְכֶם מֶלֶךְ מִצְרַיִם, לַהֲלֹךְ:  וְלֹא, בְּיָד חֲזָקָה.

19 εγώ δε οίδα ότι ου προήσεται υμάς Φαραώ βασιλεύς Αιγύπτου πορευθήναι, εάν μη μετά χειρός κραταιάς.

19 And I know that the king of Egypt will not give you leave to go, except by a mighty hand.

כ  וְשָׁלַחְתִּי אֶת-יָדִי, וְהִכֵּיתִי אֶת-מִצְרַיִם, בְּכֹל נִפְלְאֹתַי, אֲשֶׁר אֶעֱשֶׂה בְּקִרְבּוֹ; וְאַחֲרֵי-כֵן, יְשַׁלַּח אֶתְכֶם.

20 και εκτείνας την χείρα πατάξω τους Αιγυπτίους εν πάσι τοις θαυμασίοις μου, οίς ποιήσω εν αυτοίς, και μετά ταύτα εξαποστελεί υμάς.

20 And I will put forth My hand, and smite Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in the midst thereof. And after that he will let you go.

כא  וְנָתַתִּי אֶת-חֵן הָעָם-הַזֶּה, בְּעֵינֵי מִצְרָיִם; וְהָיָה כִּי תֵלֵכוּן, לֹא תֵלְכוּ רֵיקָם.

21 και δώσω χάριν τω λαω τούτω εναντίον των Αιγυπτίων· όταν δε αποτρέχητε, ουκ απελεύσεσθε κενοί·

21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. And it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty;

כב  וְשָׁאֲלָה אִשָּׁה מִשְּׁכֶנְתָּהּ וּמִגָּרַת בֵּיתָהּ, כְּלֵי-כֶסֶף וּכְלֵי זָהָב וּשְׂמָלֹת; וְשַׂמְתֶּם, עַל-בְּנֵיכֶם וְעַל-בְּנֹתֵיכֶם, וְנִצַּלְתֶּם, אֶת-מִצְרָיִם.

22 αλλά αιτήσει γυνή παρά γείτονος και συσκήνου αυτής σκεύη αργυρά και χρυσά και ιματισμόν, και επιθήσετε επί τους υιούς υμών και επί τας θυγατέρας υμών και σκυλεύσετε τους Αιγυπτίους.

22 but every woman shall ask of her neighbour, and of her that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment; and ye shall put them upon your sons, and upon your daughters; and ye shall spoil the Egyptians.'

א  בִּשְׁנַת-מוֹת הַמֶּלֶךְ עֻזִּיָּהוּ, וָאֶרְאֶה אֶת-אֲדֹנָי יֹשֵׁב עַל-כִּסֵּא רָם וְנִשָּׂא; וְשׁוּלָיו, מְלֵאִים אֶת-הַהֵיכָל.

1 ΚΑΙ εγένετο του ενιαυτού, ου απέθανεν ‘Οζίας ο βασιλεύς, είδον τον Κύριον καθήμενον επί θρόνου υψηλού και επηρμένου, και πλήρης ο οίκος της δόξης αυτού.

1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.

ב  שְׂרָפִים עֹמְדִים מִמַּעַל לוֹ, שֵׁשׁ כְּנָפַיִם שֵׁשׁ כְּנָפַיִם לְאֶחָד:  בִּשְׁתַּיִם יְכַסֶּה פָנָיו, וּבִשְׁתַּיִם יְכַסֶּה רַגְלָיו--וּבִשְׁתַּיִם יְעוֹפֵף.

2 και Σεραφίμ ειστήκεισαν κύκλω αυτού, εξ πτέρυγες τω ενί και εξ πτέρυγες τω ενί, και ταις μεν δυσί κατεκάλυπτον το πρόσωπον, ταις δε δυσί κατεκάλυπτον τους πόδας και ταις δυσίν επέταντο.

2 Above Him stood the seraphim; each one had six wings: with twain he covered his face and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

ג  וְקָרָא זֶה אֶל-זֶה וְאָמַר, קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ קָדוֹשׁ יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת; מְלֹא כָל-הָאָרֶץ, כְּבוֹדוֹ.

3 και εκέκραγεν έτερος προς τον έτερον και έλεγον· άγιος, άγιος, άγιος Κύριος σαβαώθ, πλήρης πάσα η γη της δόξης αυτού.

3 And one called unto another, and said: Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.

ד  וַיָּנֻעוּ אַמּוֹת הַסִּפִּים, מִקּוֹל הַקּוֹרֵא; וְהַבַּיִת, יִמָּלֵא עָשָׁן.

4 και επήρθη το υπέρθυρον από της φωνής, ης εκέκραγον, και ο οίκος επλήσθη καπνού.

4 And the posts of the door were moved at the voice of them that called, and the house was filled with smoke.

ה  וָאֹמַר אוֹי-לִי כִי-נִדְמֵיתִי, כִּי אִישׁ טְמֵא-שְׂפָתַיִם אָנֹכִי, וּבְתוֹךְ עַם-טְמֵא שְׂפָתַיִם, אָנֹכִי יוֹשֵׁב:  כִּי, אֶת-הַמֶּלֶךְ יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת--רָאוּ עֵינָי.

5 και είπον· ω τάλας εγώ, ότι κατανένυγμαι, ότι άνθρωπος ων και ακάθαρτα χείλη έχων, εν μέσω λαού ακάθαρτα χείλη έχοντος εγώ οικώ και τον βασιλέα Κύριον σαβαώθ είδον τοις οφθαλμοίς μου.

5 Then said I: Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

ו  וַיָּעָף אֵלַי, אֶחָד מִן-הַשְּׂרָפִים, וּבְיָדוֹ, רִצְפָּה; בְּמֶלְקַחַיִם--לָקַח, מֵעַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ.

6 και απεστάλη προς με εν των Σεραφίμ, και εν τη χειρί είχεν άνθρακα, ον τη λαβίδι έλαβεν από του θυσιαστηρίου,

6 Then flew unto me one of the seraphim, with a glowing stone in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;

ז  וַיַּגַּע עַל-פִּי--וַיֹּאמֶר, הִנֵּה נָגַע זֶה עַל-שְׂפָתֶיךָ; וְסָר עֲו‍ֹנֶךָ, וְחַטָּאתְךָ תְּכֻפָּר.

7 και ήψατο του στόματός μου και είπεν· ιδού ήψατο τούτο των χειλέων σου και αφελεί τας ανομίας σου και τας αμαρτίας σου περικαθαριεί.

7 and he touched my mouth with it, and said: Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin expiated.

ח  וָאֶשְׁמַע אֶת-קוֹל אֲדֹנָי, אֹמֵר, אֶת-מִי אֶשְׁלַח, וּמִי יֵלֶךְ-לָנוּ; וָאֹמַר, הִנְנִי שְׁלָחֵנִי.

8 και ήκουσα της φωνής Κυρίου λέγοντος· τίνα αποστείλω, και τις πορεύσεται προς τον λαόν τούτον; και είπα· ιδού εγώ ειμι· απόστειλόν με.

8 And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said: 'Here am I; send me.'

ט  וַיֹּאמֶר, לֵךְ וְאָמַרְתָּ לָעָם הַזֶּה:  שִׁמְעוּ שָׁמוֹעַ וְאַל-תָּבִינוּ, וּרְאוּ רָאוֹ וְאַל-תֵּדָעוּ.

9 και είπε· πορεύθητι και ειπόν τω λαω τούτω· ακοή ακούσετε και ου μη συνήτε και βλέποντες βλέψετε και ου μη ίδητε·

9 And He said: 'Go, and tell this people: hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

י  הַשְׁמֵן לֵב-הָעָם הַזֶּה, וְאָזְנָיו הַכְבֵּד וְעֵינָיו הָשַׁע:  פֶּן-יִרְאֶה בְעֵינָיו וּבְאָזְנָיו יִשְׁמָע, וּלְבָבוֹ יָבִין וָשָׁב--וְרָפָא לוֹ.

10 επαχύνθη γαρ η καρδία του λαού τούτου, και τοις ωσίν αυτών βαρέως ήκουσαν και τους οφθαλμούς αυτών εκάμμυσαν μήποτε ίδωσι τοις οφθαλμοίς και τοις ωσίν ακούσωσι και τη καρδία συνώσι, και επιστρέψωσι, και ιάσομαι αυτούς.

10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they, seeing with their eyes, and hearing with their ears, and understanding with their heart, return, and be healed.'

א  מִי הֶאֱמִין, לִשְׁמֻעָתֵנוּ; וּזְרוֹעַ יְהוָה, עַל-מִי נִגְלָתָה.

1. ΚΥΡΙΕ, τις επίστευσε τη ακοή ημών; και ο βραχίων Κυρίου τίνι απεκαλύφθη;

1 'Who would have believed our report? And to whom hath the arm of the LORD been revealed?

ט  לוּלֵי יְהוָה צְבָאוֹת, הוֹתִיר לָנוּ שָׂרִיד כִּמְעָט--כִּסְדֹם הָיִינוּ, לַעֲמֹרָה דָּמִינוּ. 

9 και ει μη Κύριος σαβαώθ εγκατέλιπεν ημίν σπέρμα, ως Σόδομα αν εγενήθημεν και ως Γόμορρα αν ωμοιώθημεν.

9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

א  וְהָיָה אַחֲרֵי-כֵן, אֶשְׁפּוֹךְ אֶת-רוּחִי עַל-כָּל-בָּשָׂר, וְנִבְּאוּ, בְּנֵיכֶם וּבְנוֹתֵיכֶם; זִקְנֵיכֶם, חֲלֹמוֹת יַחֲלֹמוּן--בַּחוּרֵיכֶם, חֶזְיֹנוֹת יִרְאוּ.

1 ΚΑΙ έσται μετά ταύτα και εκχεώ από του πνεύματός μου επί πάσαν σάρκα, και προφητεύσουσιν οι υιοί υμών και αι θυγατέρες υμών, και οι πρεσβύτεροι υμών ενύπνια ενυπνιασθήσονται, και οι νεανίσκοι υμών οράσεις όψονται·

1 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out My spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions;

ב  וְגַם עַל-הָעֲבָדִים, וְעַל-הַשְּׁפָחוֹת, בַּיָּמִים הָהֵמָּה, אֶשְׁפּוֹךְ אֶת-רוּחִי.

2 και επί τους δούλους μου και επί τας δούλας μου εν ταις ημέραις εκείναις εκχεώ από του πνεύματός μου.

2 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out My spirit.

ג  וְנָתַתִּי, מוֹפְתִים, בַּשָּׁמַיִם, וּבָאָרֶץ:  דָּם וָאֵשׁ, וְתִימְרוֹת עָשָׁן.

3 και δώσω τέρατα εν ουρανω και επί της γης, αίμα και πυρ και ατμίδα καπνού·

3 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

ד  הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ יֵהָפֵךְ לְחֹשֶׁךְ, וְהַיָּרֵחַ לְדָם--לִפְנֵי, בּוֹא יוֹם יְהוָה, הַגָּדוֹל, וְהַנּוֹרָא.

4 ο ήλιος μεταστραφήσεται εις σκότος και η σελήνη εις αίμα πριν ελθείν την ημέραν Κυρίου την μεγάλην και επιφανή.

4 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the LORD come.

ה  וְהָיָה, כֹּל אֲשֶׁר-יִקְרָא בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה--יִמָּלֵט:  כִּי בְּהַר-צִיּוֹן וּבִירוּשָׁלִַם תִּהְיֶה פְלֵיטָה, כַּאֲשֶׁר אָמַר יְהוָה, וּבַשְּׂרִידִים, אֲשֶׁר יְהוָה קֹרֵא.

5 και έσται, πας, ος αν επικαλέσηται το όνομα Κυρίου, σωθήσεται· ότι εν τω όρει Σιών και εν Ιερουσαλήμ έσται ανασωζόμενος, καθότι είπε Κύριος, και ευαγγελιζόμενοι, ους Κύριος προσκέκληται.

5 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered; for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those that escape, as the LORD hath said, and among the remnant those whom the LORD shall call.

ח  שִׁוִּיתִי יְהוָה לְנֶגְדִּי תָמִיד:    כִּי מִימִינִי, בַּל-אֶמּוֹט.

8 προωρώμην τον Κύριον ενώπιόν μου διαπαντός, ότι εκ δεξιών μου εστιν, ίνα μη σαλευθώ.

8 I have set the LORD always before me; surely He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

ט  לָכֵן, שָׂמַח לִבִּי--וַיָּגֶל כְּבוֹדִי;    אַף-בְּשָׂרִי, יִשְׁכֹּן לָבֶטַח.

9 δια τούτο ηυφράνθη η καρδία μου, και ηγαλλιάσατο η γλώσσά μου, έτι δε και η σάρξ μου κατασκηνώσει επ ‘ ελπίδι,

9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth; my flesh also dwelleth in safety;

י  כִּי, לֹא-תַעֲזֹב נַפְשִׁי לִשְׁאוֹל;    לֹא-תִתֵּן חֲסִידְךָ, לִרְאוֹת שָׁחַת.

10 ότι ουκ εγκαταλείψεις την ψυχήν μου εις άδην, ουδέ δώσεις τον όσιόν σου ιδείν διαφθοράν.

10 For Thou wilt not abandon my soul to the nether-world; neither wilt Thou suffer Thy godly one to see the pit.

יא  תּוֹדִיעֵנִי,    אֹרַח חַיִּים:
שֹׂבַע שְׂמָחוֹת, אֶת-פָּנֶיךָ;    נְעִמוֹת בִּימִינְךָ נֶצַח.

11 εγνώρισάς μοι οδούς ζωής· πληρώσεις με ευφροσύνης μετά του προσώπου σου, τερπνότητες εν τη δεξιά σου εις τέλος.

11 Thou makest me to know the path of life; in Thy presence is fulness of joy, in Thy right hand bliss for evermore.

א  לָמָּה, רָגְשׁוּ גוֹיִם;    וּלְאֻמִּים, יֶהְגּוּ-רִיק.

1 ΙΝΑΤΙ εφρύαξαν έθνη, και λαοί εμελέτησαν κενά;

1 Why are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain?

ב  יִתְיַצְּבוּ, מַלְכֵי-אֶרֶץ--    וְרוֹזְנִים נוֹסְדוּ-יָחַד:
עַל-יְהוָה,    וְעַל-מְשִׁיחוֹ.

2 παρέστησαν οι βασιλείς της γης, και οι άρχοντες συνήχθησαν επί το αυτό κατά του Κυρίου και κατά του χριστού αυτού.

2 The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together,
against the LORD, and against His anointed:

א  לְדָוִד, מִזְמוֹר:
נְאֻם יְהוָה, לַאדֹנִי--שֵׁב לִימִינִי;    עַד-אָשִׁית אֹיְבֶיךָ, הֲדֹם לְרַגְלֶיךָ.

1 Ψαλμός τω Δαυϊδ.

ΕΙΠΕΝ ο Κύριος τω Κυρίω μου· κάθου εκ δεξιών μου, έως αν θώ τους εχθρούς σου υποπόδιον των ποδών σου.

1 A Psalm of David.
The LORD saith unto my lord: 'Sit thou at My right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.'

כב  אֶבֶן, מָאֲסוּ הַבּוֹנִים--    הָיְתָה, לְרֹאשׁ פִּנָּה.

22 λίθον, ον απεδοκίμασαν οι οικοδομούντες, ούτος εγενήθη εις κεφαλήν γωνίας·

22 The stone which the builders rejected is become the chief corner-stone.

כג  מֵאֵת יְהוָה, הָיְתָה זֹּאת;    הִיא נִפְלָאת בְּעֵינֵינוּ.

23 παρά Κυρίου εγένετο αύτη και έστι θαυμαστή εν οφθαλμοίς ημών.

23 This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

ז  כִּי הוּא אֱלֹהֵינוּ--    וַאֲנַחְנוּ עַם מַרְעִיתוֹ, וְצֹאן יָדוֹ:
הַיּוֹם,    אִם-בְּקֹלוֹ תִשְׁמָעוּ.

7 ότι αυτός εστιν ο Θεός ημών, και ημείς λαός νομής αυτού και πρόβατα χειρός αυτού.

8 σήμερον, εάν της φωνής αυτού ακούσητε,

7 For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the flock of His hand.
To-day, if ye would but hearken to His voice!

ח  אַל-תַּקְשׁוּ לְבַבְכֶם, כִּמְרִיבָה;    כְּיוֹם מַסָּה, בַּמִּדְבָּר.

μη σκληρύνητε τας καρδίας υμών, ως εν τω παραπικρασμω κατά την ημέραν του πειρασμού εν τη ερήμω,

8 'Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, as in the day of Massah in the wilderness;

ט  אֲשֶׁר נִסּוּנִי, אֲבוֹתֵיכֶם:    בְּחָנוּנִי, גַּם-רָאוּ פָעֳלִי.

9 ου επείρασάν με οι πατέρες υμών, εδοκίμασάν με και είδον τα έργα μου.

9 When your fathers tried Me, proved Me, even though they saw My work.

י  אַרְבָּעִים שָׁנָה, אָקוּט בְּדוֹר--    וָאֹמַר, עַם תֹּעֵי לֵבָב הֵם;
וְהֵם,    לֹא-יָדְעוּ דְרָכָי.

10 τεσσαράκοντα έτη προσώχθισα τη γενεά εκείνη και είπα· αεί πλανώνται τη καρδία, αυτοί δε ουκ έγνωσαν τας οδούς μου,

10 For forty years was I wearied with that generation, and said: It is a people that do err in their heart,
and they have not known My ways;

יא  אֲשֶׁר-נִשְׁבַּעְתִּי בְאַפִּי;    אִם-יְבֹאוּן, אֶל-מְנוּחָתִי.

11 ως ώμοσα εν τη οργή μου· ει εισελεύσονται εις την κατάπαυσίν μου.

11 Wherefore I swore in My wrath, that they should not enter into My rest.'

יא  מוּסַר יְהוָה, בְּנִי אַל-תִּמְאָס;    וְאַל-תָּקֹץ, בְּתוֹכַחְתּוֹ.

11 Υιε, μη ολιγώρει παιδείας Κυρίου, μηδέ εκλύου υπ’ αυτού ελεγχόμενος·

11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD, neither spurn thou His correction;

יב  כִּי אֶת אֲשֶׁר יֶאֱהַב יְהוָה    יוֹכִיחַ;
וּכְאָב,    אֶת-בֵּן יִרְצֶה.

12 ον γαρ αγαπά Κύριος παιδεύει, μαστιγοί δε πάντα υιόν ον παραδέχεται.

12 For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth,
even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

יא  נִשְׁבַּע-יְהוָה, לְדָוִד אֱמֶת--    לֹא-יָשׁוּב מִמֶּנָּה:
מִפְּרִי בִטְנְךָ--    אָשִׁית, לְכִסֵּא-לָךְ.

11 ώμοσε Κύριος τω Δαυϊδ αλήθειαν και ου μη αθετήσει αυτήν· εκ καρπού της κοιλίας σου θήσομαι επί του θρόνου σου·

11 The LORD swore unto David in truth; He will not turn back from it:
'Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

טו  נָבִיא מִקִּרְבְּךָ מֵאַחֶיךָ כָּמֹנִי, יָקִים לְךָ יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ:  אֵלָיו, תִּשְׁמָעוּן.

15 προφήτην εκ των αδελφών σου ως εμέ αναστήσει σοι Κύριος ο Θεός σου, αυτού ακούσεσθε

15 A prophet will the LORD thy God raise up unto thee, from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

טז  כְּכֹל אֲשֶׁר-שָׁאַלְתָּ מֵעִם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ, בְּחֹרֵב, בְּיוֹם הַקָּהָל, לֵאמֹר:  לֹא אֹסֵף, לִשְׁמֹעַ אֶת-קוֹל יְהוָה אֱלֹהָי, וְאֶת-הָאֵשׁ הַגְּדֹלָה הַזֹּאת לֹא-אֶרְאֶה עוֹד, וְלֹא אָמוּת.

16 κατά πάντα, όσα ητήσω παρά Κυρίου του Θεού σου εν Χωρήβ τη ημέρα της εκκλησίας λέγοντες· ου προσθήσομεν ακούσαι την φωνήν Κυρίου του Θεού σου και το πυρ τούτο το μέγα ουκ οψόμεθα έτι, ουδέ μη αποθάνωμεν.

16 according to all that thou didst desire of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying: 'Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.'

יז  וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה, אֵלָי:  הֵיטִיבוּ, אֲשֶׁר דִּבֵּרוּ.

17 και είπε Κύριος προς με· ορθώς πάντα όσα ελάλησαν προς σε·

17 And the LORD said unto me: 'They have well said that which they have spoken.

יח  נָבִיא אָקִים לָהֶם מִקֶּרֶב אֲחֵיהֶם, כָּמוֹךָ; וְנָתַתִּי דְבָרַי, בְּפִיו, וְדִבֶּר אֲלֵיהֶם, אֵת כָּל-אֲשֶׁר אֲצַוֶּנּוּ.

18 προφήτην αναστήσω αυτοίς εκ των αδελφών αυτών, ωσπερ σε, και δώσω τα ρήματα εν τω στόματι αυτού, και λαλήσει αυτοίς καθ ‘ ότι αν εντείλωμαι αυτω·

18 I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

יט  וְהָיָה, הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא-יִשְׁמַע אֶל-דְּבָרַי, אֲשֶׁר יְדַבֵּר, בִּשְׁמִי--אָנֹכִי, אֶדְרֹשׁ מֵעִמּוֹ.

19 και ο άνθρωπος, ος εάν μη ακούση όσα αν λαλήση ο προφήτης εκείνος επί τω ονόματί μου, εγώ εκδικήσω εξ αυτού.

19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto My words which he shall speak in My name, I will require it of him.
